Ashley's PC's

In a few of my posts, you've heard/will hear me talk about my girlfriend, Ashley. The main reason I mention her is because not only is she alright with my baseball card obsession, but she has joined me in the collecting. (Isn't she awesome!) Anyway, her PC's are growing, and I obviously want to help her. She is Ohio-born and raised, so she's a Buckeye at heart, so she loves anyone with the big red O on them. She has decided curb her collections to the athletes she wants to collect exclusively first, for now. These are the men she came up with. So if you have anything not on this list, I sure we can strike up a deal, and I can have a happy girlfriend. Who doesn't want that?

James Laurinaitis, son of WWE Legend Animal from the Legion of Doom tag team, is the lone Buckeye Ashley picked for a PC and the man she dubs as her favorite athlete of all time. This 2009 third round draft pick is a monster on the St. Louis Rams pitiful defense. While at Ohio State, Laurinaitis compiled 375 total tackles, which ranks second in Big Ten history. To top it all, James was a three-time Consensus All-American (2006-08) and two-time Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year (2007-08).

As I discussed before on this blog, my girlfriend is in love with Joe Mauer. Apparently, he's just so dreamy. And since baseball is my specialty, I figured, "What the heck?" Why not help her out. Hints why she has more Mauer than Laurinaitis at this point. Where do I start with the Twin Cities' native son's accolades? 2009 AL MVP, four-time All-Star, three-time Gold Glover, three-time batting champion. All around, Joe one of the greats our time, and maybe all time once his career is over.

Finally, Ashley loves Larry Fitzgerald. "He's just an amazing player," she says. She's right, and I'm not the only one who agrees. The Arizona Cardinals thought so as well when they took the Pitt Panther wideout with the third overall pick in the 2004 NFL Draft. Fitzgerald has backed it up ever since by being a six-time Pro Bowler and leading the league in receiving touchdowns in 2008 and 2009. His 73 career receiving TDs lands him fifth on the active player list and 30th all time.
