Thanks be to eBay

Fellow Bloggers! Although we do depend on each other to help trade for sets and player collections, where is it that we go to find the abnormal and overprice, the inserts and jersey cards? eBay of course! Another one bites the dust in my Todd Helton "shrine." The one of which I speak? It's the 2012 Bowman Fire Red /25. Now I have one of each in my player collections. Dan Uggla numbered 17/25. My brand spankin' new Helton...15/25. Both cards via eBay. While they both cost more than I originally planned for, I got my money's worth. Without eBay, I don't know what I'd do since almost half of my player collections. So, next time you go to your mailbox and find a package you ordered from eBay, just think of where our sets/collections would be without the "e."

P.S. A picture will be up as soon as the Helton is in hand. Don't worry. I wouldn't leave you guys hanging like that.

2012 Topps Update

I don't know about you guys, but with all the trades going down with still a week left until the deadline, I can't wait to see the 2012 Topps Update set. Dempster as a Brave, Ichiro as a Yankee, Carlos Lee a Marlin, Youkilis a White Sox and Lord knows who else on different teams. It will be funny to see those names in different unis, but it's part of the game and a great thing for the hobby. Just something new. I'm super psyched and hope you are too. I'm gonna try something new with this set, though. Still working out the kinks, but I should have it up soon. Stayed tuned for details. I'm gonna need some help!!!

eBay Mail Call

Look what came in the mail today from my eBay purchases. The Helton bat barrel is numbered 22/25, the Helton Bowman Blue 444/500, and the Uggla Bowman Fire Red 17/25. Being from the Southeast, the Braves have always been a family favorite, and this Freeman Pro Debut is a great add for just $1.50. All in all, I believe this guy made out like a bandit.

Graded Paradise

Just one call to All Star Cards in Kansas City, MO got me these awesome graded gems. Is that what I think it is in the middle? Why yes, it's a 2011 Bowman Chrome Prospects Bryce Harper. The graded...just a 9. Heck yes! Check them out!

My Smoky Mountain Flea Market Finds

So I went to visit my favorite card guy, Mark, at the Flea Market in Sevierville, TN, and this is the best of what I can home with. I paid just $2 apiece for the Beltre and Marmol 2012 A&G Relics and $5 for the quad bat with Helton, Kent, Sheffield, and Gonzalez. Pretty awesome right. Couldn't be happier. Thanks to my man Mark for hooking me up!

In Honor of Kansas City...

It's no secret that I am a huge Todd Helton and Dan Uggla fan, but what you do not know is that I love to get my hands on a couple of KC youngster's cards when I get the chance. While on a trip to Asheville, NC, I picked up some great Eric Hosmer and Mike Moustakas cards for a steal.

If the lowly Royals could ever get their mound problems fixed, their offense anchored by these two and All-Star Billy Butler should carry the load to an AL Central crown in the years to come.

The Elusive Toys R Us Purple

Sure 1/1s are obviously the hardest cards to get your hands on, and we can go down the list, 5/5s, 10/10s, so on and so on. But really...has any one ever touched, let alone seen, one of these 2012 Toys R Us Purple Parallels. As a Todd Helton collector, I've scoured the internet world for a chance to buy this card. Not only have I not found one to buy, I couldn't even find a picture of one. (Hochevar will have to do. At least it's still a U of TN alum.) If you or any of your friends has or has seen this elusive 2012 Helton parallel, contact me immediately for a handsome reward...most likely a trade.

Here Goes Nothing...

Well, this is my first venture to the blogosphere as a blogger and not a reader. I will be posting about my cards, haves, wants and just random things over the next week to see how it goes. Any suggestions, just hit me up.
